On March 6th we bid farewell to one of Barcelona’s emblems, the 19-year-old Hivernacle, located in the Sants neighborhood. More than 3000 people came to say goodbye in a market where different products were sold. They had one thing in common though: they were all designed in Barcelona. Our pieces, inspired by the also emblematic hydraulic tiles, couldn’t miss this event.
After the closing of this city’s symbol was announced, there was a great commotion among Barcelonians. The news were shared all over social and conventional media and even a change.org petition to stop the closure was created. Therefore this farewell was an emotional event and way more than a market. It was a meeting point for Barcelona’s creators and friends of the Hivernacle, the neighborhood and the city. We are really proud of having been a part of this beautiful event and having been able to bid farewell to the Hivernacle with the honors it deserves.
